b. for every mile a 16 year old drives they have a 46% chance of getting in a car crash
c. 2,926,000 teenagers were killed in an accident last year
d. last year they killed 13,000 OTHER people
e. if teenagers don’t drive auto insurance and gas prices will go down
f. 16 year olds are 4 times more likely to get in an accident than any other age

No 16 year old should not be able to drive, if your not old enough to drink then you shouldnt be old enough to drive. As for carpooling at 16 that is illegal becuase at that age you only have your G1 and by law it staes you can only have one other passenger under 16. Plus 16 year olds are nto mature enough and anyone who says otherwise is a 16 year old, you dont know what mature is yet. I dont agree with anythign at all you said there, what are you 16 tryign to convince peope your mature enough to drive, you dont even understand the law at all do you. Should take away your license.

Driving is a privilege, not a right.
And sixteen year olds should NOT be able to drive a vehicle alone.
I’m all for letting you get your permit at 15, but by allowing you to drive at such a young age is huge disservice not only to yourself, but to the other people on the road.
It may seem unfair at the moment; that people are “robbing” you of your right to drive, but when you’re older you’ll look back and think, “Why the heck did i need a license at 16?”

Driving Age Limit Persuasive Essay
Have you heard teens whine about the driving age? I have and I’m tired of it. The age limit for driving should be changed, but not how the teens want it. I believe we should raise the age limit to 18*. There are many reasons for my attitude on this issue. For starters, teens have been known to be crazy and absolutely love to cause mischief. Giving them a car won’t help. It is also known and proven by scientists that the cerebrum, the part of the brain that is associated with reasoning, orientation, visual processing, and movement plays a very important role in driving and understanding or comprehending what is going on around you. Adults have more developed ones since, obviously, they are older. Therefore they have more developed cerebrums. Teenagers however have under developed cerebrums, and won’t be as experienced and in control as more mature drivers. Do you really want to drive with inexperienced drivers? Plus, I don’t see a fourteen year old like myself driving anytime soon.

Not only is it hurting those unfortunate people who happen to get injured by teens driving, it’s hurting everyone else as well! With all these accidents, the insurance and gasoline companies are raising their prices, making life hard for everyone else on the road as well.

I believe that the only way to slowly halt all of this carnage is to simply raise the age limit back up. It’s that simple, raise the age limit to eighteen, take back or put all sixteen year old licenses into “hibernation” per say. Once the person is eighteen re-activate their license, but not before taking a small test or exam to make sure they still know all the rules of the road. If we could do that it would give the teens more time to grow, learn, and develop into safer drivers. A lot of lives can be saved by doing this; it would allow parents to let their kids out to drive without having to worry about them not coming back.

First, the leading cause of death in teens are car accidents. Second, about 300,000 teens are injured a year in car accidents. Third, teens are at the highest risk for car accidents than any other age group. Forth, Having teen passenger in the car with the teen driver is more likely to get in an accident, 39% more. 86% more with two teen passengers. And 182% with three teen passengers. Fifth, there are studies that prove that the teen brain has not matured enough to regulate risk taking and impulse control. So the teens saying they should be driving obviously have not looked into it. you haven’t showed any proof that you are ready. Being embarressed because your parent is with you is an obvious sign that you are not mature enough. And you getting upset with what I wrote won’t help your maturity. many of you may think you are responsile enough but there are more of you who are definitly not. Just wait until you have lost a friend in an accident, or when you are a parent someday and maybe you will understand.

you all are retarted… First of all, before you decide that sixteen years old teens should drive.. WHY DONT YOU RESEARCH?? when youre sixteen, you dont fully mature.. not like every one does. but when you turn 18 you look back and say wow, i have matured alot since i was 16. When I got my license i experienced alot that i wasnt ready for. 50 hours is not long enough.. just because you drive like one hour a day does not make you an experienced driver.

You people say all of this because of accidents caused by teens. Compare them to accidents caused by others, heck elders have caused 4 times more accidents. Do you think it would be better if you teenage son or daughter got their driver’s license? Should they be able to drive along the road? Well I do, because it would be easier for them if they have their own transport they then can get to school on time, it makes them more socially active in their community and also it causes less stress on parents who have to drive their kids to school. That’s why I think 16 years olds should be able to drive!

Firstly it would promote them to get to school and college and even to go work on time, rather then getting the public transport which can take as long as 2 hours to get to! It would make them more responsible knowing that they have to drive themselves everywhere and parking in the right place etc. Age is nothing but a number, it matters how responsible and mature the person is. “I don’t think it matters what age you are,” the Hinsdale Central High School sophomore, Lucie Greci, said Monday before hitting the road for her driver’s education class, “as long as you have the practice and experience.” I mean what way would you have it ? At what other age would you suggest they start driving so that they will gain sufficient experience to support their goal of attaining self-sufficient adulthood at the age of 18?

If they have cars then they would be more socially active. For example if they had cars then they could be able to drive to meet up with friends, drive to the library and all other things. Everyone knows how it is to stay cooped up in the house and not enjoying the fresh air nature has to offer. Besides most parent’s are busy and cant drive them everywhere. Its also important that the teen and parent establish a contract, to establish rules for driving. Let your kids roam the world it’s the only way they will live!

Its also a lot easier for the parents not having to drive them everywhere. First off, their parents can’t drive them everywhere. They had to when they were born until they were 15 years old. They drive them to school every morning. Also taking them to extra school activities like football or basketball etc.. “. Most parents don’t like putting their children on busses all time of the night, waiting in the corner in all types of weather. Besides on some days I know my mum picks up my little sister from karate 6:30, drops my brother off at basketball in Frölunda 7:00 and picks up me from swimming at 7:30. ok, to all the adults in this conversation i just turned 16 recently and the reason im not geting my license is the insurance is so high priced for 16 year old males. now these reasons suck tremedously, but im writing an essay on this at this very moment and i think that 16’s should drive with restrictions. one restriction like blasting your music and not being able to concentrate on the road. im not the perfect driver i make mistakes just like every adult would do. adults in the age of 30 and above have been driving since they were around 12 or 13 so why would a teenager of this time era be discluded from rights? we can start working at the age of 16 right? so how are we gonna get there and start experiencing the real world if we have no way of getting around? there are some exeptions with the really dumb arrogant teenagers that think they are too cool for laws and speed limits and even stop signs, but trust me adults are no better and many adults like teenagers need to learn to grow up and become more mature so dont blame all the gas and insurance prices sky-rocketing just on teenagers.

People 16 can be more responsible then people in there 40\’s . 16 year olds are just begining so they are really scared. It is sometimes when people are to confident that they end up in a car crash. But also 16 years olds don’t understand what there dealing with without the proper training. Every one has a choice to make the right one, it doesn’t matter with age. so i am just saying that people need to be careful

the government should invest in driving education, starting when children begin middle school. if they spent a year or two just learning about all of the rules of the road, then starting driving go karts, or something similar that can\’t go fast, then moved onto cars after passing a test, by the time they turned 16 they would be good, experienced drivers. this would greatly reduce the death toll, insurance prices, and gas prices. if the driving age was raised to 18, then 18 year olds would be unexperienced drivers, and when they left home for college they would be in danger. in becoming a good driver, age isn\’t as important as experience, and there\’s no way to gain experience without driving.

Please better your research… There may have been 2,926,000 motor vehicle ACCIDENTS. But there is no way that there were that many killed.. According to my research. “The number of drivers ages 15-20 involved in fatal crashes totaled 5,864 in 2008(.)”

Don’t get me wrong, I am a 15 year old kid; almost 16. But i have seen a lot of irresponsible, disrespectful, immature, 16-18 year old kids who definitely need their licenses revoked. The only reasons i see why a teen should be able to drive would be if they proved they were mature enough, and were responsible enough.

I say 16 year olds maybe even younger should be able to drive because when your younger you learn faster and if we are 16 and have a license we will be put under rules by our parents like be home by 10:00, go to the store and come straight back. but like an 18-and above year old they get to do whatever they want and didnt have the rules that let them get mature enough, and have the sayings going through there head’s telling them to be careful. i honestly dont think why you would want the age limit raised, there was a show called wife swap, and they were raised on a farm, and they had a son that knew how to drive since he was 7 YEARS OLD? and he’s about 13 now and when they showed it on the TV screen it looked to me that he was a pretty good driver? not all teenagers are irresponsible, immature, cell phone addictive, drinking delinquits that you see in movies, no they are human like any other 30, 20, 6, 43, year olds. im 12 and i think my opinion is right but if u disagree i dont really care, but younger teenagers have a lot to listen to, but by adding more years to being able to get your license isnt fair.

most teens save money befor a job and have a car befor they have there first job how do you expect the teen to get to the job if parents are working?? most jobs whont even give you a chance if you dont have a car alot of teens shouldent get punishhed for some imature people thank you very much!
